Icelandic wool - Plötulopi - ISTEX
Icelandic wool Plötulopi is for those who love soft but rustic. It is a sensational, warm and wild wool. The yarn is called unspun because the fiber is almost completely unworked. This process makes the yarn quite fragile because of the length of its fibers but it turns into a sweater that is at the same time sturdy and soft.
It is mostly used for multi-color work, but it is also beautiful to use in single-color projects. The colors are reminiscent of Iceland and the power of its land.
Plötulopi is sold in the form of a plate (a flat and wide disk shape) and individually wrapped. Use the inner end of the disk to minimize the breaking of the thread. In the event that the end should break (it can happen, everything is regular) join the two ends by helping yourself by rubbing them between your fingers.
Composition : 100% Icelandic virgin wool
Meterage : 100g ~ 300m
Recommended needles :
1 strand: needles 4-4.5 mm
Plötulopi can also be used in 2 or more layers depending on the desired effect.
Care instructions:
Hand wash in warm (not hot) water with mild soap. Lay flat to air dry.
